Bar manager responsibilities include leading staff and operations by ensuring a cleanly, efficient and inviting environment for customers to enjoy. Primary duties include scheduling employees and building shift calendars, bartending, stocking the bar’s inventory and developing the beverage program.

Skills
Managing inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service
Hiring new staff and providing training to facilitate quick acclimation
Setting regular cleaning standards and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation levels
Creating schedules for all staff
Tracking finances to identify areas of potential waste
Proven customer service experience
Extensive food and beverage knowledge, training and experience

Skills
Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role
Proven customer service experience as a manager
Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
Familiarity with restaurant management software, such as OpenTable
Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
Acute financial management skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus
